There is no plan, no cart, and no sign-up. The foundation is closed on purpose, and the only sites on it belong to our own clients. Here is why we built it that way and kept it that way.
Why closed
This environment exists to do one thing. Keep our own clients dominating. The way we keep it doing that one thing well is by keeping it closed. We are not in the business of renting out server space to anyone with a credit card.
The moment you open the foundation to everyone, you inherit everyone's problems, the spammers, the neglected sites, the bad neighbors, and the standard drops to the lowest tenant. We will not do that to the clients who are trying to win.
Not exclusivity for its own sake
This is not a velvet rope for the sake of looking exclusive. It is engineering discipline.
A closed environment with only well built, well maintained client sites on it stays fast, stays clean, and keeps its reputation high, which protects the rankings of everyone on it. The closure is not marketing. It is part of how the foundation performs.
